Theater and Shows on Queen Anne

The main entertainment venue on Queen Anne is the Royal Court Theatre, which spans decks 2 and 3 at the front of the ship. It hosts production shows as well as performances such as a solo electric violinist or a group. Two shows stood out on my sailing: “Pride and Prejudice (sort of)” and “Imagination.” The former was a hilariously cute five-woman take on the classic Jane Austen story, updated with modern songs. It’s a riot. The latter is a tech-effects show that combines a lot of neon, singing and dancing. It’s a bit different than anything you’ll see on other Cunard ships, but it’s worth checking out. Additionally, "Noir" takes place each night in the Bright Lights Society lounge. Reviews from guests on my sailing were a bit mixed, but I thought it was cheeseball fun – a hammy detective story with overacting and lots of singing. It’s interactive, but you don’t have to participate unless you want. You will need to make reservations for this one.

Cabins

Cabins

Cabins on Queen Anne are contemporary and comfortable, with enough space for two. They feature nice touches like a lighted mirror area, cute wallpaper and power outlets of every kind throughout. One nice feature that feels upscale is the TV offers on-demand movies at no additional cost, and it is a nice way to wind down at the end of the night or potentially keep rambunctious kids entertained for a bit.The ship doesn’t offer solo cabins. Queen Anne has 33 wheelchair accessible staterooms across multiple categories. There is no suite complex onboard.

Cabins on Queen Anne

All cabins on Queen Anne come with twin beds that can be combined to form a king, TVs with music and movie channels, a vanity/desk with mirror, tea- and coffee-making machines, night table, USB charging ports plus U.K., U.S. and European power outlets, safes, hair dryers, teakettles, bathrobes and slippers for use onboard, and wardrobes. You’ll also find a welcome bottle of sparkling wine.Cruise ships, including Queen Anne, offer three types of cabins: interior or inside, oceanview or outside, and balcony or veranda. All suites on Queen Anne fall into the balcony category.Ocean view and balcony cabins additionally come with a loveseat and table. Configurations for suites vary. See below for more details

Cabins on Queen Anne

Balcony cabins on Queen Anne are fairly spacious, coming in at 236 square feet. They are nicely laid out and offer good storage, though perhaps not enough hanging space for long dresses (not a deal breaker but certainly worth noting on a ship that has a more formal dress code than others). They rely on cubbies rather than drawers. Balconies themselves are also comfortably sized, each offering two chairs and one small table. One quirk: The closet meant for longer items is tucked in next to the bed, and you have to play a bit of a waiting game to get into it if you’re traveling with a partner. Other closets are located across from the bathroom, so if you’re in the bathroom and traveling with someone, it helps to call out to make sure you’re not opening the door into them.Queen Anne holds to Cunard’s tradition of a class system for its guests, who can elect to book suites in the top Queens Grill or slightly lower Princess Grill, or they can book in the Britannia Club cabins, which come with a variety of perks.

Dining

Dining

Queen Anne has a strong variety of included and for-fee restaurants. Most guests will be happy with the variety and ability to eat when and where they want. Food on Queen Anne is generally good, with some standouts and a few flops. The British history of Cunard means you’ll definitely find items at many restaurants that appeal to guests from the U.K. (Think black pudding, mushy peas, scotch eggs and the like.)

Free Restaurants on Queen Anne

The heart of the dining is Britannia Restaurant, where passengers can elect to eat at a set time or at a flexible time. Most guests look forward to dinners here, where menus are extensive and service is excellent. If you’ve booked in the Queens Grill, Princess Grill or Britannia Club, you’ll have your own dedicated restaurant open for three meals a day.

Britannia Restaurant

A stunning venue, Britannia Restaurant stretches from deck 2 to 3 at the back of the ship. The room features double-high chandeliers and natural lighting, with views of the sea from almost anywhere. Etched glass and brass highlight the space, and a sweeping central staircase serves as a lovely centerpiece.Britannia, the ship's main dining room, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. The breakfast menu is fixed, offering the same options every day, while lunch and dinner change each day.Food quality runs the gamut from OK to excellent, depending on what you order. Service in the evening is stellar and eager, but at other meals, it is hit and miss, occasionally feeling hurried and disorganized.
